Lizard Log Park in Western Sydney Parklands is a fantastic destination for a family picnic and some extended play.
There is something for all ages at Lizard Log Park. The park is spread across a couple of different play areas, each offering a different type of interactive play.
The bottom end of the playground features two tyre based swings held by chains. The older kids love standing on these swings but little ones can sit for comfort. There is also a large spinning metal disc with astroturf in the centre. The kids loved piling onto it and taking turns to spin each other around.
All of this equipment is in a sandpit giving it a soft landing for anyone who toppled off. Nearby there are three metal diggers for ploughing in the sand – a nice quiet spot for the little ones.
There is also a water pump that runs rivers down some platforms which is great for the kids to rinse their hands and feet and cool off in warmer months.
On the other side of the scooter path that divides the play areas you will find more nature based play equipment with balancing logs and tree stumps in a large sandpit.
Beyond the sandpit areas there is a fantastic slide with a rock based stairway to climb up into the top of the slide. On the side of the concrete wall of the slide there are rock climbing stones for the kids that love to climb.
And the furthest part of Lizard Log Park is the flying fox zone. There are three different flying foxes, two that are longer and higher and one that is better suited to smaller kids. There is sand beneath these also.
In between the different play areas there are grass pods where you can pull out a picnic rug amongst the park equipment. Or just above the park up the footpath you’ll find sheltered picnic tables and bathroom facilities.
Don’t forget your scooter to ride on the winding pathways that weave through the play area, and Lizard Log Park is also dog friendly. If you are thinking of attending on the weekend, the Lizard Log markets will be taking place every Saturday from October 13.
