QUEENSLAND
The Doughnut Bar
185 Queen St Mall, Brisbane
The Doughnut Bar is all about locally made food, created from scratch. Each doughnut is a mini masterpiece of deliciousness including flavours like Tella Ball and Cara Ball and if you want to up the ante, you can add a syringe filled with Nutella, caramel or raspberry. There are of course other tasty treats on the menu but it’s a challenge to bypass these handcrafted delights.
NEW SOUTH WALES
N2 Extreme Gelato
184 King St, Newtown
The name says it all – N2 isn’t any ordinary gelato. It’s been created with liquid nitrogen to ensure the gelato is exceptionally smooth. How does it work? It’s really scientific so best you just go and order one and watch your Extreme Gelato being created with dry ice right before your eyes. Another thing we love about N2 is they source their ingredients from local produce to dairies meaning their flavours are fresh to the very last spoonful.
VICTORIA
Sugar Buns Bakery Cafe
Hampton Park Shopping Centre
1a/55 Hallam Rd, Hampton Park
This bakery turned cafe is creating super yummy treats but their real work of art is their mega shakes! Their shakes go above and beyond, with holiday themed shakes including Halloween and Christmas shakes and really decadent shakes like the Candyland, the Nutella Pistachio and the Malteser Shake. They really must be devoured to be believed!
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The Aviary Dessert Kitchen
227 The Parade, Norwood
The desserts served at The Aviary Dessert Kitchen are a work of art. These sweet treats all look too good to eat, but you won’t want to leave a morsel behind once you’ve ordered off the delectable menu of treats. Their signature dish is the macaron flower pot – with your choice of macaron set in a pot of rich chocolate Belgian mud cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate soil and pistachios.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Whisk Creamery
151 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
The cornerstone of Whisk Creamery is creativity – they make desserts that are next level good! We recommend trying the classic Taiyaki filled with red beans, Uji matcha gelato and finished with a strawberry skewer and drizzled with chocolate. Or you can get creative like the creators at Whisk Creamery and design your own dessert by choosing a base, flavours, crunchy toppings, sauces, special toppings, mousse and crunchy drizzles.
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
Frugii Dessert Laboratory
30 Lonsdale St, Braddon
Everything about Frugii desserts is made in house and from scratch. Rather than adding flavour and colouring, Frugii likes to avoid tampering with the natural flavours of their desserts. Because of this they have lots of customers who have particular dietary requirements including food intolerances. Their gelatos, sorbets and ice creams are divine with flavours including garden mint, gingerbread and passionfruit pavlova. Other delicious treats include home made chocolate and pastries made fresh on a daily basis.
