The Australian Ballet is bringing Storytime Ballet back to Melbourne in the lead up to Christmas with the absolutely stunning tale of Sleeping Beauty. Discover what we love most about Storytime Ballet and their newest performance.
Sleeping Beauty
The newest Storytime Ballet performance is Sleeping Beauty. The stage will transform into a dreamy kingdom full of magical fairies, a beautiful sleeping princess and a prince searching for his true love. The princess Aurora is cursed to sleep for 100 years unless she is woken by true love’s kiss. Will her prince find her in time?
Storytime Ballet is for children aged 3 and up
The show is a live, interactive experience created especially for children aged 3 and up. The length of the show is 50 minutes and this show is packed with characters they will recognise including Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and of course Sleeping Beauty.
It introduces ballet and classical music to kids
What a wonderful way for children to be exposed to the classical arts through the telling of a story that they will know and love. The score for this beautiful show is set to Tchaikovsky’s hum-along score and the costumes are absolutely incredible.
Kids are encouraged to dress up
Let the tribe dress up in a ballet costume, or even dress up as your favourite fairytale character. Storytime Ballet encourages the kids to dress up and stand up and dance to ensure they get maximum enjoyment from the show.
Watch professional ballerinas on stage
The cast of Sleeping Beauty are all members of the Australian Ballet which means the show will be as wonderful and professional as a night at the ballet. Watching them twirl and tondue will delight the parents as much as the kids.
