Spot on Children’s Festival is back at Riverside Theatre during the October school holidays. The line up of activities and shows will keep the tribe entertained over five jam-packed days.
Happening in Parramatta, this year’s program features a mix of live theatre shows, musical performances, workshops, film screenings and other activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the school holidays. Some of the highlights of this year’s festival include two international shows including Lullaby Sonic Cradle, all the way from the UK. This performance is inspired by Indian lullabies and is suitable for kids from 0 up.
The other international performance comes from New Zealand – Troll, which is geared towards kids 8 and up. This dark comedy has a ‘Stranger Things’ vibe to it and involves storytelling, music, and puppetry.
If your tribe love bubbles (and the science behind them) then they’ll love Dr Hubbles Bubbles. This show is suitable for kids 3-12 years and will have them laughing and watching in awe.
There are other performances that the kids will get excited about including Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts – a show that turns some of the best-known fairy tales into surprising twisted tales. There is also a workshop led by the actors of the show to perform your very own version of the disgusting poems.
Or if your kids love music – The Conductor and The Clown is a mini symphony show combining comedy with classical music. Kids from ages 4 and up will love this hilarious show.
There are also lots of free activities and entertainment including face painting, craft activities, a library tent, photo booths, and giant chalkboards if you just want to pop in and have fun with the tribe.
