In our tribe we have two cars. One is the big SUV which is perfect for when we’re moving around as the entire family. The other is the smaller, hatchback which I love for totally different reasons. Brett Mills of Ken Mills Toyota Sunshine Coast says not to be fooled by the size of the classic Toyota models including the Corolla and the Yaris. The benefits of having a smaller car to run around town in are not to be overlooked!
“Most families these days can’t survive with a single car but the second car needs to be reliable and economical. The Yaris and Corolla might be loved by 20 somethings and empty nesters but more and more we get families after a little runaround.”

Park plays
Our tribe absolutely loves a few hours spent in the park. It’s free, it’s fun and it requires nothing to be brought along with you other than the kids and their hats. This is why the Toyota Corolla is the perfect option for a park day. The new model comes in a petrol engine or the advanced Toyota Hybrid Technology making short trips even more economic and simple!
Here’s a list of our favourite parks and attractions in Queensland to enjoy in your Corolla.
Picnics with the tribe
When the weather is fine there is nothing better than throwing a picnic rug, a basket full of food and drinks and a ball to kick around into the back of the car and treating the tribe to a picnic. Our top pick of car for a family picnic is the zippy Toyota Yaris. This car is packed with comfort and convenience and you will love how easy it is to park in a crowded car park with this sporty little hatchback.
Here is our list of fave picnic spots to visit next weekend.
Playdates with friends
With restrictions easing, play dates are back on the cards! Whether you’re meeting at a friend’s place or going to a fun cafe where the tribe can play and the mums can chat – having a smaller car can be a blessing! The Corolla and the Yaris are both compact enough to park in the tightest of spots, but roomy enough for the kids to enjoy the ride.
