The brand new Richley Reserve playground is now open and ready for play and after it’s huge overhaul, it’s proven to be a popular spot for tribes to visit.
If you’re in Newcastle, a trip to the newly opened Richley Reserve playground is an absolute must! After it’s $2.5million makeover, the bush land retreat has lots of nature play based activities.
You will find:
- A ropes course
- See-saw
- Swings
- Rock and stick play spaces
- An adventure tower
- All abilities carousel
- Scooter paths
- Shelters
- Barbeque areas
The adventure tower is the main attraction in this amazing playground with gumnut shaped towers, connected by bridges, rope ladders and tunnels, slides and fireman’s poles.
The Fisher tribe tried this amazing park out recently and said they could have spent the entire day there.
“It’s set in a nature reserve so there are ducks wandering through the playground as the kids play. It was so cute!” said Nyree.
Richley Reserve is part of Blackbutt Reserve in New Lambton and has been purpose built as an all abilities playground with wheelchair access for kids with disabilities. The carousel has been specially designed to facilitate kids with mobility issues and/or wheelchairs.
This park has something for little kids and bigger kids so it’s a space that can be enjoyed by the whole family. You can take advantage of the sheltered areas, and there is a car park with 120 spaces making it easy to access.
