Looking for somewhere with yummy food, cool vibes and kid friendly? Visit these Central Coast cafes with the tribe.
Living Timbre – Wyong
This half cafe half nursery is a great spot with loads of character and charm. There are two pianos inside as well as a stage for a live band to jam away with some tunes. You can stop in for brunch right through to dinner and grab a bite to eat and a plant or two if you like. Be sure to say hi to Steve the cat who is the real boss at Living Timbre.
The Glass Onion Society – Long Jetty
This cool cafe has retro lounges and the world’s thickest and tastiest banana bread. There is a cool outdoors area where dogs are welcome to join their tribe for a meal. Menu options include tasty treats like Orange Blossom Pancakes, Eggs Benny Burger and Pulled Pork Burger. Surrounded by trendy shops, we highly recommend a meal at The Glass Onion Society.
The Milk Factory – Wyong
This fantastic spot has not one, but two places to dine when you stop in for a bite to eat. There is the Milk Factory Cafe and the Milk Factory Tavern. Both have options to dine outside where you can see the kids playing across the carpark in the gated play area, but you can also get your food take away from the cafe and sit up at the few picnic tables in the playground too. While you’re visiting the Milk Factory, there is also a Thai restaurant on site, a gourmet cheese shop, a lolly shop and you can also hire kayaks and canoes in the summer months for a paddle up Wyong Creek where you might spot a platypus if you’re lucky.
The Secret Cafe – Charmhaven
This hidden gem is actually not so hidden, it’s what’s in the backyard that you’d never know about unless you pulled off the highway and gave it a go. The Secret Cafe has a cubby house and little toys for tiny tots in a gated off area. There are picnic style tables in the yard making it easy for the kids to run back and forth between the play area and the table. There’s yummy breakfast and lunch options for all tastes from Mexican Breakkie Wraps to Avocado Smash, and for lunch there is a variety of burgers, salads and wraps on offer. There is also a great kids menu with all of the usual favourites.
The Marshmallow Co. – Wyong
This delightful little dessert cafe has handmade gourmet marshmallows on offer and the choice is difficult to make. Flavours include Cotton Candy, Lemon Meringue, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip, Choc Banana, Cherry Ripe, Elderflower and more! With over 25 unique flavours on offer, it can take some time for the tribe to figure out which one is for them. The Marshmallow Co. offers smores, milkshakes, tea and coffee and other sweet treats.
